Icon6 Cost to run 11's?....

I Have a 97 accord 4 door, what I like to call a "sleeper".

Either I'm dumping 3K+ into the accord or I'm building a V8 Rx-7, I'm trying to build a good sleeper, something you would run into and never guess.

Is 11's or quicker possible with 3K in parts? I'm thinking no?

I can def build say a 302/5 Speed FB that will run 11's for 3K, I love my Honda but I don't think it's possible, even an H22 swaps I dont need near 11's 1/4 mile.

Anyone here familier with engine sways in the rx7's? I have to replace the clutch in my accord anyway but I have a second empty garage that would fit a 302/LS1 Rx-7 Nicely, your thoughts?

good luck, the accord is mildly heavy and with slicks and 300hp you might run a 12 sec 1/4, maybe depending on conditions and driver skill. Youll need more cash in a honda for drag racing than in a v8. hondas are more of a low key DD machine than anything else.

Did you try removing all non-essential parts out of the vehicle to make your vehicle lighter? How about replacing heavy subs for higher quality speakers? Replacing some body parts from what I heard with fiberglass (although very costly, time consuming, and very unsafe) may do the trick if the fabricator can make it look close to stock as possible...

Is your motor stock? For more power, definitely consider a fully built H22 or H23 for a swap. (Fully built as in bottom end is strengthened with stronger sleeves for future high boost applications, and top end is built with lightweight performance parts.) Of course, you will be spending well over 3k, but you'd definitely have a great sleeper without the turbo or supercharger going off.

Boosted K swap and removing ALL the unnecessary weight. You could also get some lightweight racing wheels, reps are too cheesy and OEM aluminum wheels are heavy. People have 9 second civics, but the civics are nothing weight wise compared to the Accords.

I've dumped $8k (FI) into an S2000 and probably am lucky to run low 12's....that's if the differential doesn't break.

*edit* An RX7 and LS motor is going to cost you more than $3k unless you're stealing everything....
