I have an 88 honda civic 3dr hatchback dx, and recently converted to mpfi,but i am having problems when i press on the gas pedal all the way. it starts up good and if i hit the throttle slowly their is no problem but when i try to hit the throttle fast it dies and it throws alot of white smoke. Any ideas?

 

Check your Throttle Position Sensor and see if you switched the two outer wires, DPFI and MPFI TPSs work in reverse of each other

I bought a plug in play engine harness so i think i should be switched around already

 

I have tried to troubleshoot it a little. I tried checking the vacuum hoses, tried cleanning the throddle body,checking my ecu it has code 16 "injector plugs", i changed the injectors as well,clean the fuel rail,chaged my fuel filter,changed my spark plugs,checking my map sensor.

 

Did u get the whole engine harness or just an ecu jumper? If u just got a ecu jumper then u will stilll need to switch the two tps wires

 

Where did you get this harness from?

 

Don't assume. It should only take you a couple of minutes to verify anyway.

 

everything was ok i just had a ground wire loose ...F@^% hahahahhahaha
