Default Pizza Delivery and MPG

Hey I'm new here and have previously owned a 91 Camry (4 banger) and a 90 Camry Wagon (V6).

Now I own a 98 Civic LX w/ Auto Trans and a seized A/C compressor (aside from that and touch of front end damage it is in good shape). Everything is stock (minus my Aftermarked Bluetooth equipped radio I ripped out of my old junked Wagon) and I deliver pizza.

Which means a crap ton of stop and go driving as well as idling.

Any tips to improve MPG? Currently about 19-23 while on the job and about 27-30 straight highway driving (which as you can tell I don't do much of except for a bi-annual trip to visit family up north in MD, USA).

I bought this car from my little sister at 160K miles on 3 JAN 2013 and have now added about 1.6K since. I'm planning on changing the oil in the next 100 miles as the SEVERE schedule calls for a change every 3750 miles.

Also I checked the EPA's website and the new updated MPG numbers are 25/28/33 (city/combined/highway respectively)

It had a new fuel filter and plugs in May of 12 (I believe) and I am considering just doing a full tune up (as per here ) and a SeaFoam run except I don't exactly know where the fuel pressure regulator is on this thing. (Per the instructions).

Cap, rotor, plugs wires, have the ignition timing set/checked.

Unless you beat the **** out of it, you should be getting more MPG.

Any recommendations on Iridium vs Copper vs Platinum Plugs and anything on the others (wires, cap, rotor) would be appreciated.

Use the stock plugs from the dealer. NGK. Use only OEM ignition parts. Change all the fluids and filters. When was the timing belt done? If it hasn't do the entire service using OEM parts. A good online dealer is Majestic honda.

Full tune up as others mentioned above. Oil, coolant, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, Ngk plugs&wires, cap, rotor. I've got the same car (except 5 speed) and get 280-300 a tank combined. Shift at 3k. Def need to replace some stuff myself.

Its a 15 year old car... you drive in stop and go traffic.
There is no way to improve the mileage on it.
What you are getting now is pretty darn respectable for a car its age.
Looking up the EPA estimates is no way to gauge what you should be getting.
Its an estimate.... not a number set in stone.
None of the preventative maintenance thats mentioned here will be a magic formula for better mileage.
Drive slower maybe but thats about it.

All of the above maintenance/tune ups, also walk into any autozone, go to their chemicals wall. Grab a bottle of 'Restore' brand fuel system cleaner. That one alone made a difference in my mpg. I went from average 30 to average 40mpg combined city/hwy. and i don't baby it either. That is the only cleaner i actually stand by. Follow directiona on bottle.
