Hello All,

I have a question regarding the dome lighte hookup. On a 97 civic with the Viper 5704 alarm.

I've directly tapped the 5704 dome light wire into the Green harness behind the radio dome light wire. However the function to turn on the dome light when the door is open does not work. On position turns on the light but the middle selection for the on when door is open does not work. Please Help.

Have you installed an aftermarket stereo into the car?

If so, and unless you used a jumper or the T harness and left stock unit in the dash you have opened the dome light circuit...

You are correct, I have an aftermarket stereo installed. The stock deck unit has been completely removed from the vehicle. Although it is not a big deal that the door open dome light on function does not work, I am just wondering what is now needed to make it function correctly again?

Simple enough, get the Schoche HAK3B harness/adapter, it comes with the jumper for the green keyless entry plug, or just jump the light green/red and light green/black leads in th green plug. 94

 

Is this also a problem on Integras?
