Default Help me...

SO my birthday is approadching quicking (this coming saturday) and my father had bought me a headunit from crutchfield...they sadly sent the face kit for a 1994 Honda accord...and no that wont fit up but thats not my problem..I have a 1996 Honda Civic w/ Keyless entry. I went to best buy to talk to them about getting the things i needed to install it correctly, and they said to keep my keyless entry i have to have the stock headunit hidden somewhere in my car..i was liek thats total bullshit, that i need to keep just the keyless entry wired to it and then hook up the new headunit...is this true ? is there a way around it ? can i go back and kick the Best Buy guy in the nuts ? they wanted me to buy 60 dollars worth of crap when crutchfield will hopefully send them for free. im so pissed though..if it isnt possible let me know cuz i was thinkin bout getting an alarm system that would do that for me

hmmm....that's weird. My sister has a 97 accord SE and has keyless entry. About 5 months ago, I installed a pioneer cd player, kicker amp, and 2 jbl subs. After the install, her keyless entry Still Works!

I'm pretty sure honda civic's remote keyless entry is the same way. What you could do is take out the receiver and see if the keyless entry still works.
