Hey guys, how ya doin? So I bought a T2T4 tranny on craigslist from a guy for a hundred bucks. This is my first tranny build, and im a little concerned. While getting ready to take the case off, I noticed this.

Based on where the crack is (on the top) is this going to be a waste of time and energy? I'm inclined to think no, but I'm just looking for an expert's opinion.

 

Ha, nevermind. I realized the differential is broken.


At least it wasn't too expensive of a lesson. I just sent Synchrotech an email about cost of picking up another transmission. Thanks any way guys!

 

It looks more like a casting flaw rather than a crack.
The diff picture is small, how is it broken?
