VSS wire/plug trouble 94 GSR
I replaced my VSS today but in the process the plug(has 3 wires running to it) came off there's some sort of gel in the holes(to hold the wires in i think)so putting the wires back in doesn't seen possible. It's really annoying not having a spedo/odometer/VTEC. Could really use some suggestions.
The "jell" is waterproofing it has nothing to do with keeping the terminals in place, terminals are locked into place by a small plastic "clips" in the plug.
You should be able to "dig" out the "jell" and reinsert the terminals, but my guess it the plastic retaining clips are broken so terminals will not lock into place.
If you can get the terminals into place, [correct pin configuration] you may be able to replace the "jell" with a little JB Weld to seal and hold the terminals in place.
The above assumes the terminals are still in the wires and you did not pull the wires out of the terminals, if so that is a whole different fix, but also still doable. 94

Theres just copper wire showing. Is the terminal supposed to be covering the wire or in the plug I'd self.( I think the terminals are gone) could I just go n get a new plug from Honda and slip the wires in+ seal them ? Thanks
The terminals are stuck in the plug, [the retainer clip is holding them] you can depin them and reterminate them to the leads, [I solder the leads to the terminals when I do them].
Yes, you may be able to get a plug&pigtail, [plug with 6"-12" of wire on it, and then connect your wires to it, however plug&pigtails are never cheap at any dealers part counter, your far better off going to a bone yard, under $4 at a PicknPull.94

Ok Could I just use a needle/small file to scrape the goo out ? Then use
Some sort of sealant(I don't have acces to a soldering gun) thanks

Sorry, I have no info on plugs, but would assume that all B series transmissions would have the same VSS and so the plug will be the same, just assuming, post a pix of the plug. 94
Shouldn't I be getting code 17:VSS. I'm not my cluster works fine I have a 2nd one that I tried even. Shows other codes but not this one.
