I habe a little dent on my Volk te37 rim....how to repair it? With hammer, or give it to a machine shop…this machine shop needs to know if there is any magnesium or just Aluminium.

IT is on the outer side of the rim (the lip), dent is about 0.2 inch............the tire is not loosing air.

 

I heard crying works...

Try taking it to a specialty wheel repair shop?

 

i think the te37's have a magnesium compound in them.

Time to call up volk to verify

 

doh!!!! I hope there is no magnesium in there, cause it will crack what I heard of...anyone ever repaired a te37?

 

Forged rims are hard to repair - the metal can get "work hardened" if you try and rebend it - then it you hit a major bump again the wheel can crack.

Get a professional wheel place to fix it --->$$$

 

if its minor cosmetic how about using bondo and repainting the wheel?

no Yoshi, that is just a scratch, mine is dent, I will make a pic today

 

I had mine repaired by a wheel shop. They did a great job, and it had a nice size dent too.
