Default 4th gen vs 5th gen.......... suspension

5th gen base prelude springs and shocks would fit a 4th gen and vice versa, right?

yup....I have 2001 shocks on my 1996. Just have knock off the holders for the brake lines and put them on the new shocks

The advantage of doing that was my 1996 shocks were done after a couple of years on the sportlines. However for $60 I bought another 2-3 years of a good ride.

So many people drop their car and get aftermarket shocks at low mileage, I got them with 20,000 miles on them for $60! Can't pass ona deal like that. Suspension is tight.

hmm, eibach sportlines and oem shocks lasting 2-3 years.

i don't think so. aftermarket set of shocks may have been a good investment this time around.

What can I say, they lasted. 170,000kms on stock shocks....about 70,000 of them dropped

i hear you. i'm not saying they'll decompress because they'll blow.

the ride just gradually gets worse. any stock shock with a close to 2inch drop with stiffer aftermarket springs just isn't recommended.

no oem honda strut/shock can handle it. not even an itr shock.

I agree completely, this is defintely not recommended...but it's a quick fix until I think I need aftermarket. I spent too much on the engine

Just have knock off the holders for the brake lines and put them on the new shocks
how do you do this? do you have to weld them or something?
