60 ft times how do you ppl do it???
i notice if someone ran a 2.3 60 ft here theyre considered a bad driver. i dont get it because most ppl i see at the track runs an average of 2.3-2.4s on street tires and the occasional 2.2. i run my car at texas motorplex and my best 60 ft on nitto 555r is 2.3 and 2.2 at texas raceway. is it the track that yall run at??? i launch by riding the clutch all thru 1st gear. how does everybody here launch to get those 2.0 60 fts???
Depends on the car U have, suspension setup, and the motor setup you're running. Most people I know, regardless of setup or whatever, do net 2.0 60 foots. You can try to slip it out and get good times, but I know that some of us do a quick 2nd gear burnout to heat the tires up (smoked them hard, but for a short amount of time cuz they do glaze like street tires), and just dump the clutch at 7000rpms. The tires will blaze for a little bit, but they do hook.
1.816 is my best at other track that where I ran this weekend. I did manage a 1.857 Friday night though.
20x8x14's + ZEX, get with the game.

Alot of people don't remember to raise the car up somewhat when racing. If your car is slammed your riding on the inside edge of the tire which even with drag radials won't hook up as well as it could.
Also your using 555r which is the drag radial I assume?

This past Friday I nailed a 2.24 60ft. Thats on street tires, about 25psi, with a few bolt-ons making my little hamptser(D16Z6) go. I usually ride the clutch and mash the gas.

Not to brag, but I nailed a 1.61 60ft yesterday to win the event... I was so surprised... But you know what... I'm sure the VHT the track guys layed down helped.. Cause I usually only get a 1.7-1.8...
If you guys are wondering... I'm running an H22 in my 89 H/B... 22x8x13... Final ET was 12.01@110ph.

2.0 on true street tires (Potenza SO-3's). The SO-3's have really stiff sidewalls which isn't good for pulling great 60's either but they are pretty sticky. I dry heat the tires for a few seconds and slip the clutch from about 7000rpms or a little less.
I was able to pull 2.1 60 ft. on 16" street tires @ hrp and texas motorpex... on 22x8x15 slicks I pull 1.7's all day in a full weight dc2.. on the slicks I dump from redline and let the slick do the work, on street tires I modulate the clutch from about 5000
Ive hit several 1.9s, lowest being 1.92 on 60 ft. Im running a turbo LS 6th gen coupe(7psi), street tires. Slammed, 15psi in tires. I think the bump-stops pretty much stopped any wieght transfer. Final ET in 1/8th was 9.048 to take out a Mustang Cobra
Good day at the local 1/8th track.

i guess it must be a power issue because all u guys with the 2.0 on street tires seem to run 13s. i only run in low 15 sec range.
I was wondering how you guys launch with drag radials? Dump it or feather? I just got a CM Stage 4 clutch...and haven't been to the track yet...dunno which would work better...dump or feather...though this thing grabs...so I doubt feathering. I also have 20X8X14 M/Ts...gonna try em for the first time this week.
