Default directed electronics alarm

I have a directed electronics after market alarm put on my honda crv by the dealer. The only # or info on it is "3807A" and "Directed electronics". It uses my honda key. I've heard it may have a "dealer master loop" on it that neeeds to be disabled. Dealer wants $700 to remidy this, and say it was put on to augment the Hondas alarm for glass breakage. Is there a manuel for this or can you help.

Remedy what exactly? You weren't clear on that.

Are you trying to remove the alarm? Do you have any experience in alarm wiring?

As of this point I have simply disabled the divice. It was put on by the dealer as an extra. It susposedly is a shock sensor that will enhance the Honda alarm to include glass breakage and excess motion. When connected, the blue light flashes constantly, some times in sets of 4 flashes & at times three but it flashes continuly even whent the car is being driven. Of course this is annoying. The doors lock within seconds after exiting the car. I would like it to work properly and be able to program it to my prefered settings. I have called directed electronics and they wont help, don't even show the model except as a audio device. Because it uses my Honda factory ket they just say I must contact a Directed dealer, at a charge of course. What should I do?

You're going to pay for anything you have to do seeing as how you have what seems at best to be a lesser known alarm manufacturer and no idea how to uninstall it.

Take it to your local car audio shop and have a brand new alarm installed. Without knowing exactly what the dealership did during installation and "disabling" it might end up causing big problems. Spend the $150-$200 and have a new alarm installed.

Unplugging the brain on that model will not cause any problem with the operation of the car. The reason why the led is flashing is cause the dealer left the yellow wire unplugged from true ignition. Most people have no ideal on these or aftermarket units so you would not know what to look for. That unit is is not alarm but a piggyback system. No frills or thrills. And deff no security.

Thank you. You are correct it is a piggyback system, supposedly a glass breakage sensor. After unplugging the sensor (removing the fuse they put in the power line) I have noticed that the doors do not automatically lock after exiting the car no matter how I try to set it according to the Honda instruction manual. Should I just take this back to the dealer, who is out of town and not easy to get to, and have them remove it when I get a chance? Or is there a quick fix I’m missing?

That is a feature of the piggy back system. I would look into a higher end alarm brain and call it a day.
