Good system on the cheap.
Ok i listen to all sorts of music from mozart to trance to dmx to punk I have a pioneer p6400 Head unit love it. and some pioneer speakers sounds real good for 6 1/2s all the way around. Now i want some bass not super loud but noticable i also still wanna hear the lyrics to my songs crystal clear. what do you guys recomend on the cheap for woofers and a amp?im thinkin two 8's or two 10's but dont know what brand woofers and amp to go with.
well how much money you looking to spend? I would recommend going with two 10" subs, because they give you the best response for all around listening, and will still give you the lows you would want. If you have your amp set up correctly to correspond with the music you listen to, than you should have no prob with the over powering bass that you are afraid of having. Now getting to what brand you should use. I love JL Audio, i know there might be a ton others that are better and there are definately people who know 10 times more than me, that could shut up me and put me in my place when it comes to this subject, but i am going to stay with what i know works. I would suggest you get either two 10W0 10" subwoofers, or two 10W3 10" subwoofers. The W0 is cheaper than the W3 because its output and clarity is not as good. BUT I have three 10W0 subwoofers and they sound amazing. Whats great about them is that they are very efficient which means that they dont need maximum amounts of power to produce their 125wRMS output. That comes into play when you do not have alot to spend on an amplifier but still want to have a great sounding sub. Now two 10W0's should be great for you. I am assuming you have an Integra. You should not have a problem whatsoever fitting it in your hatch. Here is a picture of the enclosure with the two 10W0 subs.
Now, it might be a little pricey, so i am sure you could go to http://www.woofersetc.com/woofersetc/shopexd.asp?id=654 you will find a great deal on 10W0-8 which would be perfect because when you wire them in parallel you will get a 4ohm load which should be great. You can power them for a great price with a US Acoustics 2100 amp, which is 300wRMSx1 @ 4ohm. You can find this amp here @ http://www.usacoustics.com/usa2100/2100_specs.html. Do not think that since the subs combined only have 250wRMS that the amp would be overpowering, since it would be pumping 300wRMS into them. I have about 600wRMS pumping into my three 10W0's which combine for 375wRMS. They hit hard as hell, and sound amazing. For the power and sound quality you seem to be looking for, this should be PERFECT!
. Well i surely hoped that i helped you make a decision. I know i am biased when commenting on this subject, but i am giving you something that will work and is not ecnonomically straining. Let me know how it goes and what you decide to do!

for 160 more than 10w0's you might wanna look into the 12w6v2's
i think they're called.
yes you'll spend a little more, but you have 400watts rms in one sub
with GREAT sound quality, less weight, and more room in your trunk/hatch.
personally i'm gettin one JL Audio 10w7 in about two weeks for my car.
expensive, yes..but with 500 watts rms, only 1 sub (less weight + more room)
i know i'm gonna be more than happy and won't wanna redo anything...
the worst feeling is spending good money on something, and then after installing
it...you want something more...when you coulda paid a lil extra money from the
get go to begin with. i'm getting my JL **** hooked up since my cousin works for
the good guys...so that's why i'm going my route.

Yeah I agree wih EVOL on how the 12w6v2 is going to sound alot better than two 10w0's but than again, the title of this post is a Good system on the cheap. Now i dont know what cheap is to the guy who started this post but i know that if i was on a really tight budget and couldnt wait, i think the two 10w0's would be your best bet. You cna get them for $190 and than build a box for whatever, i am just throwing out a number $50 which equals out to be $240. Thats a good sub enclosure with good subs for less than $250. Now add $124.99 for the US Acoustics 2100 amp and that all equals up to be $364.99, which is prett much the same price you would pay for the 12w6v2 from www.woofersetc.com. Total of 250wRMS subs, with a 300wRMSx1 amp, with an enclosure (i recommend sealed for overall SQ), all for what it would just cost for a 12w6v2 to be is bang for the buck. Let us know!
sweet I'll be getting my bonus check mddle of next month and thats probaly what i'll blow err invest it on! thanks for you help man. And i forgot to mention but i was hopin to keep it under 400.

I am glad that i helped you make a decision. Now just let me tell you. You can find the specs onthe enclosure size here: http://www.jlaudio.com/enclosures/cs210r.html. They walls ofthe enclosure are .75", i am not an expert in box contruction, but i am pretty sure that hey use MDF board for it. And i know that you will be able to find it at Home Depot. Just make your enclosure the same size as the one you see in the link, the specs on it are there. Now i dont know about that little slant in the rear of it, but i mean if anything just measure the top the same as the bottom, it will still turn out fine. Have you decided where you are going to purchase it from? For the subs go here: http://www.woofersetc.com/woofersetc...asp?Search=Yes and make sure you get the 10W0-8. For the amplifier go here: http://www.thezeb.com/caraudio/us_acoustics.html and mak sure you get the US Acoustics 2100, at the site the model # is USX2100. Shipping prices should not be too bad, and unless you know how to install an amp, you'll be looking at anywhere between $50-$75 on installation, and thats without an Ampkit. I suggest going to WAL*MART and look for this kit, http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...3A3947%3A96490 <--this kit has everything you need to install 2 amps. Make sure that if you buy an amp kit made for only 1 amp that it has the interconnect cables (RCA cables), because if not you will have to buy them. Well take care man, let me know what you do and when!!!
