Default What trans for 95 H22 Accord

Doing my auto/manual swap this summer. I am looking for H22 transmissions. Will the 98+ transmissons (like the USDM Prelude base M2Y4) fit in the 94-97 chasis? Or do I need to stick to 92-96 and 94-97 type transmissons. Thanks guys.

the 5gen prelude tranny will work also but you have to tap the transmission mounting points. the 95 accord uses a different bracket then the 5gen tranny.

No, you do not need to tap anything. Just re-use the Accord 5spd mount. All 93-01 H22 5spd trans will work in his 95 Accord. The only time you'll need to tap and move the bracket studs from the housing over to the new holes is if he's going to use the 93-01 H22 trans into a 90-93 CB7 Accord. Those have different stud patterns on their trans. I have a T2T4 LSD trans from a Accord SiR-T, and it fits just fine in my Accord by re-using my old Accord 5spd mount. No tap needed.

OP, the trans I recommend you getting would be any M2F4(USDM), M2Y4(USDM), M2A4, M2B4,T2T4 LSD, or the almighty T2W4 LSD Euro R trans. As long as you have a short geared ratio trans, your H22 would be running at it's full potential. Just watch out for the 3rd and 5th gear when you're looking to buy locally used H22 trans. Those are notorious for grinding.

No problem.

When I had my F22B1 trans mated to my H22A, my car is so slow. It's as fast as a Delsol with a JDM B16A. I ran against my buddy's and was side by side, thats how I know. Lol. Once I got my T2T4 LSD trans, and it was night and day difference in acceleration. Dust RSX Type S and Civic Si, and mine was has only I/H/E untuned at the time.
