Default from fail to win build

After much deliberation, I have decided to convert my car to obd1 and swap a D16z6. Already ordered and received the rywire conversion harness, took out the old failure of a motor, and will be getting the D16z6 this weekend.

i recently did this.

1. use mounts from the old engine.
2. if mileage is high replace stuff like the rear main seal, thermostat, pcv, oil pan gasket, water pump, tensioner, timing belt, clean intake and throttle body, and IACV and FITV...
3. take your time and do a good job on the harness

Good Luck.

Yeah, I wanted to go crazy and do a k swap but I just don't have the time right now and need my car up and going. My power goal is 300whp. And I didn't want to have to worry about anything going wrong with the wiring so I took the extra step lol. My old axles were fooked so im gonna be replacing them as well.
The whole process should be done by this weekend but to reach my goal, I'm shooting to have that done by my birthday (march 21st)

you say 300hp and d series in the same sentence and people get scared. They handle a lot more then you think. 300whp will be pretty easy honestly. Especially if you have enough money to consider a k series. Pic's would be nice

I have pictures in my photobucket. I'm using a phone and am too lazy to post pictures directly here lol.
But unfortunately some things came up and wont be ablw to get a motor until 2 weeks from now. I am getting the same motor but from a company that actually sells motors so it wont be some 140k mile motor. 20-60k miles! Yes I'm gonna boost it. No you cant ride in it. I will take plenty of pictures and videos throughout my build though. Kind of a camera ***** when it comes to things like this lol.

Depending on how long you plan on keeping it. It may be a better option to do a rebuild. Seeing as your pistons, rods, head studs, etc will be changed anyway. Why spend extra on a low mileage engine when in the end you will be throwing half of it out.

Because I'm tired of messing with this crappy d15b2 crap. I did my homework and I have read A BUNCH of threads and everyone loves the D16z6 in their Ef.
Once I actually get moving on my build, I'll actually put pictures up.
It's a 91 crx

I didn't mean the b2. Any single cam rebuild you choose. z6 are very nice but z6 with vitara pistons/custom rods are even better. probably run you $300. Worth every penny.

I'm just trying to at least get the darn thing back on the road. I got the car at the beginning of October and has barely seen the road for a month and a half since. Blowing head gaskets, sporadic bogging issues, compression going out. It was just one thing after another. I just wanna drive!
In other news, I obtained a set of 99-00 Si wheels for my crx Si wheels plus my old motor! I will look at my photobucket and see if I can get it working.

Changed my album to public. Everyone should be able to see it now.

Also, i have decided to paint the bay white and paint the motor gold with either a red or black valve cover and thinking of painting the transmission black.

Found out it had an Innovative mount so I took a picture of it lol. I'm gonna be replacing all 3 mounts in the near future.

Believe me I know how you feel. I've rushed into buying 3 cars becasue I was tired of not driving. But it was 3 for a reason Rushing never gets you a reliable ride. This last time I took my time and saved up and did it right. Now I have the most reliable and clean ef I've owned. It sucks putting miles on your sneakers, But it's worth it in the end.

Haha yeah it does. I've been waiting entirely too long for this car to run right. Replaced 2 heads, 3 head gaskets, 5 oil changes, and 3 coolant flushes. And all of this under 5,000 miles.

Well, good news is, is I'm picking a motor this weekend. Bad news is, is that its not the one i wanted.. No one in my area has them in stock(D16z6). So, I'm gonna go with the dual vtec D15b. Same build, different motor lol.

**change of plans. Picking an entire z6 swap tomorrow! Pics to come!
