starter winds but doesnt start
Hey everyone, need a little help here... I have a 94 accord 5 speed. I was driving down the road when I pressed the clutch to go to 5th the engine just started revving up on its own. So pulled over and the car died. I had a friend jump me but that didn't work. Pulled it home and I tried to start it again and you can hear the starter wind up, but nothing happens. The battery is good btw, replaced the main relay this summer. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Just cranks, but won't fire right up? Starter winds, sounds like the t-belt snapped.
Put the car in "Neutral", remove the oil cap, use a wrench or 17mm with a ratchet and turn the power steering pulley counter-clockwise & keep doing it then look inside the valve cover to see if the cam/valvetrain is rotating. If not, you have a broken timing belt.

Alright I did that, and none of the valve train moved. Alsothe belt was just slipping around the lower pulley.and no it doesn't crank at all, all you hear is the starter wind up. Also while in gear the transmission wont hold it from rolling only the e brake...maybe my clutch finally popped?
Glad you found it. I thought maybe one of the axle popped out of the axle hole which made it not hold in gear. Happened to my step dad's brother's 96 Civic sedan EX.
