'88 Civic hatch hesitates?!
My civic will run pretty good for about 10 mins. After driving any longer then 10 mins it will hesitate when i get on the gas and doesnt want to rev up while im driving. When im in nuetral or park it revs up just fine, doesnt matter how long its been on.Anyone know why this is happening? The car has a d15 (carb) with an automatic tansmission. I just added some tranny fliud and a tranny-addetive for slippage, etc. I thought maybe it would help since the gears dont like to up-shift all the time when they are supposed too especially when i get on the gas. Also when i slow down i can feel the car revving up and down on it own, not alot just a little, not sure if this is part of my problem.
Anything tips or ideas would help. Thanks!!

so it's happening under load only.
Are you getting any check engine lights?
Can you disconnect the exhaust before the catalytic converter to see if the cat is plugged up?

i have the same problem with my DC2.
only runs in the cold for about 15mins.
i changed tranny fluid, plugs, wires..
had my mechanic look at it while it was slugging and he simply said "your stage 3 clutch has had its time."
he said a stage 3 is like brake pads, more use = more wear
im not sure if that could be the same with an auto do to the clutch factor but just in case.
hope this helped!

Read again - it's an automatic.
Yes this only happens under a load....after about driving it around for ten mins then the check engine light will come on, im not suprised that it did because when i bought it it didnt have a cat converter, i know the plug to the exhaust manifold is there, but i had no idea this could be the cause of the hesitation.
As for the distributor i wouldnt be suprised if thats the problem too because when i first got it i power washed the engine bay and then stupid me saw a small little hole(looks like a rubber gromment or something is supposed to cover that hole) in the distributor. Of course it didnt start but i cleaned it out and everything ran good. The hol os located where the cap meets the metal part of the distributor. Not sure if this could be the problem or that your just simply saying its just time to get a new one....
For the transmission i noticed some type of throttle cable from the carb to the tranny just like a gas throttle cable. I assumed honda made this to keep the tranny in sync with the motor or something but i still have no clue what the real reason its there for....could this cable be the problem as well? Thanks!!

Cable is the kick down cable. At WOT it may downshift the trans for climbing hills and stuff.
Can you retrieve the ECU trouble codes? That would be a HUGE step in figuring this out.
