Default 02 accord 2.3L. wont rev higher than 3000 rpm

It all started 2 weeks ago on the freeway while trying to pass a car i step on the gas
And once it pass 3000 rpm it jerks their .
It looks like the tranny is going bad
No check engine on and no codes.
But the funny thing if i stop and turn it of and on it will pass over 3000 rpm
Until yesterday ..now my problem is their all the time
So i dicided to ..
Change the distribuator and map sensor..nothing still the same
Then i clean the throthle body..better idle but the problem is still their

I tryed checking the ecu this morning and realize i didnt have any comunication and
The check engine light wont turn on at all not even
When i turn the key over to start it ..

What else can it cause to jerk and wont pass 3000 rpm

What was there to indicate that you should replace the dizzy and MAP sensor?
How's the plugs? Even though there's no CEL, some times trying to pull the code it might show some thing. You need to start with the basics then move on to other things but don't throw parts at the car. You will be spending more money and confuse yourself in the future.
1) Fuel--Fuel filter, when was it last replaced? Recent bad tank of gas. Downgrade fuel octane if previous running higher than 87.
2) Air---Air filter, if it's really dirty, this could happen, but rare. Cleaning the throttle is good on your part. Check for vacuum leaks if any. But vacuum leaks usually give bad idle but tiny leak might not.
3) Sparks--How's the timing on this car? Spark plugs condition. Wires, check its resistance and condition.

EGR system: Clean the intake and EGR ports and valve.
Fluid: Tranny fluid level, is it Honda's fluid? Oil level and condition. Coolant, check for leaks, level and bleed any air.

Good luck. Get back with any results.

Hmm.. This almost sounds like when the VTEC Solenoid would kick in and it may currently be in "safety mode." Check maintenance section for cleaning procedure.

obd2 cars are usually pretty good with storing codes compared to obd1 cars..check for codes first

Had the same problem with 99 accord v6 turned out to be the crankshaft postion sensor which controls the ignition timing. Replaced runs good now

99.9% a faulty VTEC Solenoid switch. It's the only possible caused I have seen so far when rpm cannot surpass 3000rpm, and there is no CEL for this.

I have a 1998 Acura CL 2.3L Manual Transmission. I started having this issue where when accelerating from a stop when I hit 3k rpm it would start jerking really bad. after all the reading various forums I replaced the entire VTEC solenoid. Checked my oil / topped it off to appropriate level. checked all wiring for shorts and or the sheathing broke possibly causing a short. Cleaned throttle body and replaced gasket.

Took it for a test drive and it still jerks as soon as I hit 3k RPM while accelerating. Once I hit 5th Gear I can pass 3k rpm as the VTEC doesn't engage at normal acceleration. I am wondering what to check next other than possibly having gotten a New VTEC solenoid that is bad?

Edit: I have No Check Engine Light On Currently. I checked for Codes anyways and there are none current or stored from previous.

Thank you
