So while I had my car on jack stands for about a month my exhaust broke in half about a foot behind the cat and a few inches in front of the exhaust can. Has this happened to anyone else and what did you do to fix it?

 

Usually when the exhaust breaks like that its time for some new tubing. It happened to the resonator on my 92 civic. So i cut it out and put a glass pack in it's place (resonator and glass pack are the same thing.

I'd take that as an excuse to buy a new upgraded exhaust

 

I was going to do that but then I heard about these tubes they have at autozone that go over each broken end of the exhaust and clamp down so I want to see if I can save some money first by doing something like that.

 

You put couplers on both ends and then clamp them in place
