Default Dohc zc vtec?

I have i dohc zc in my 91 crx si. i have always thought that it couldn't be coverted to vtec in any way. i talked to a guy at the drags and he said that a 96 sohc vtec accord head can be used. does anyone know if this is true?

Ok. Im not sure about any Acoord SOHC VTEC working but any D-Sereis VTEC should work. Not sure though. I believe all SOHC VTEC's have less hp than the ZC. The only advantages are having only one cam, having maD 3rD GeaRZ Vt3K y0, and having more parts available.

i'll calling bullshit on the guy you met at the track. the accord motors are f-series, and completely different than any d-series civic motor be it SOHC VTEC or DOHC ZC. no, it won't work. Period, the end.

The head wont fit, NO vtec head will fit on a dohc-zc, Now a on the sohc zc a sohc vtec head can be put on it, but not the accord one of course

yeah, its a stock JDM SOHC ZC head... ive delt with those motors hella times. probably have done 9 of those swap this summer. dont waste your time with trying to put a SOHC VTEC head on it. there wont be any performance gains, you wont hear VTEC hit, and youll waste alot of time and money. save that money for a b16 or b18,,, b18 preferably. im selling a JDM b16 w/ LSD and hasport mounts out of my CRX . axles and shift linkage included, i keep the wireing harness and ECU, becuase i getting a really nice b18 put in it. let me know if your interested. runs strong as hell and trans is smooth.
late...
PS tell that *** at the track to suckit, the F20 engine is not only a F series,,,DUh, its way different than any D series including the DOHC and SOHC Zc's.
