aamco tranny parts?
has anyone had a manual transmission rebuild by aamco transmissions? if so how long has it lasted and how good are parts?
i was looking at the syncrotech rebuild kit for 250 (non carbon) and didnt know if it was worth it or if aamco parts where good enough for a stock 98 civic to get another 100k out of it.

My Dad owns a shop, most of the buisnesses are different because they are all franchised out, and the work force in one shop might and is most likely different than another AAMCO. As far as the parts go, tell the shop manager/owner what you're looking to do, and about the kit. Ask if you were to bring it to him with your idea of a rebuild, what he would use and order for parts. Then google what he tells you. If the AAMCO you have in mind is run anything like my dad's, they have "ins" with every parts store in the area and will shop around to find the best fit for a budget or application. Asking for a general overview of AAMCO doesn't really cover much, if you ask about a specific shop with an address or identification, someone who has had work done there might be able to help you out. Look for reviews of the shop you have in mind on the internet. As far as the parts go, I can't help you. Hopefully my .02 helps. good luck
