Default d-series clutches

hi guys, i have a 90 ec8 hatch with a tiny d13b engine in it and it needs a new clutch.. i've searched for reviews/recommendations but every thread i found is people asking for clutches that can deal with much more power than my little d13 could ever dream of producing (120bhp+). i've read good reviews about act, exedy and clutchmaster but i doubt that i need to spend money on such clutches with a d13 which will probably be swapped to a b series in the future...

so basically what i'm saying is would you guys recommend that i go for an aftermarket clutch instead of an oem one and if so what would be a good replacement clutch for a d13 without an excessive price tag?

thanks in advance.

You can find them for around $100 or so.

You can definitely do it with two people, my friend does it by himself with a jack to get it to the right height while he holds it steady.

I would definitely wait for a hand if you are going to try and do it by yourself with a jack. Just makes life easier.

how i did it was i had my brother hold a rope i looped around the trans mount. while he was holding like 90% of the weight of it i could easily move the trans in. it took me maybe a minute or 2 to get it on and put in the bolts. it was alot easier than i thought it would be.

I attempted to do it alone because I'm stubborn and after 3 tries that trans becomes much heavier than when I started so I had my dad help from above while I pushed it into place from underneath. If your a smaller guy (I'm 6'1" and weigh 160) like me, get some help lol.

yup, definitely doing it with my dad lol.. i went to a shop to check prices today and the exedy clutch kit looks perfect. i've got one small question. my engine is a d13b1, any chance you guys know whether my clutch is a 190 or 200mm? i'll probably just pull it out before i buy the clutch and compare them just to be safe
