Question after Seafoming
I Seafoamed my 91 LX and when I started it back to clear it out, "smoke" came from around the headers. The heat shield is still on so I'm not sure exactly where it's coming from; but the front of the engine. Problem? If so, how big?
Exhaust leaks cause you to burn more fuel than usual and it can foul your oxygen sensor and catalytic converter. Take the heat shield off so you can get a better look. You should fix the leak asap.
I had smoke coming from the exact same area after SF (seafoam) and when I eventually took the manifold off it was cracked in not one but 2 spots! Then when I took the cyl. head off I found it had 2 burnt exhaust valves. I think that the cracks in the manifold are what caused "hot spots" and burnt the valves, what do you think?
