I removed the A/C from my 3rd gen lude and I'm not certified in ****. You just need to relieve the pressure though for sure. Leave the compressor though, it's difficult to bypass if it's on the same belt as your crank.

I removed mine, 3G teg. And due to a, uh, mishap, I wasn't able to recover all the R134. Anyways, the whole point in taking A/C out is for weight savings, so why the hell would you leave the compressor in!?!?!? Just cut the belt.... btw, you need to reinstall the mounting bolts for the compressor as they also secure the motor mount.
