Default ticking noise from head

Hey guys, i got a ticking noise coming from my head. Ive searched for awhile with no definitive answer, so ill try my luck here. Head is b18b1 head on b18a1 block, the head was very recently rebuilt according to the last owner. Has crower stage 1 cams. Now, i got it with a ticking noise, sounds exactly like valves needed adjustment. Plus he said they did. When i went to adjust them, the clearance was extremely tight...im talking a few full turns to adjust properly. Valve lash is now set to specs from crower (6 for in, 8 for ex.). Ive done the adjustment a few times hoping i maybe made an error, and the noise got quieter, but its still there. I pin-pointed it to something from cyl 2, exhaust side. Noise is rather quiet when car is cold, emerging mostly when in high rpms when car is warm. What should i look into? Thanks peeps.

A compression test might rule out mechanical problems in the valvetrain. Could it be the PCV valve or the fuel injectors?

Are you sure you did the valve adjustment correctly? People seem to have trouble with the non-vtec heads. What were the specs you used?

Yeah im sure I did it properly. Did it three times to make surevit wasnt error...i used specs from crower since i have crower cams, being .006 for in and .008 for exhaust. Cams are stage 1 near stock cams. Did a compression check, numbers are all great with 189, 199, 190, and 203 from cyls 1-4 in that order. What else could this be? And pcv valve might be an issue here?

Edit: and yes from what i was told, previous owner said head was all rebuilt at a machine shop. Guess the conp numbers prove him right...

found this off of general information. might want to give it a try as it probably wont hurt since the crower stage 1 is near stock

Valve clearance (engine cold)
B18B1
(intake side) 0.003 to 0.005
(exhaust side) 0.006 to 0.008

The PCV valve may not really be an issue, just a source of noise. Injectors can be really noisy too.

I dont think any honda overhead engine use lifters...the cam hits the rocker arm to engage. And before I made this topic, i bought one of those mechanic stethoscope to pinpoint noises. I am 99% sure the noise is coming from the exhaust side of cyl 2. Is there anything that can fail or be damaged there that can cause ticking but not affect compression? Thanks for helping
