Default AIR CHANNEL

not sure if im phrasing this correctly .. or if the ide even makes much sense .. but i just wanted some opinions on this thought, im sure it may have been done before

in the 98 integras there is a hole in the engine bay that is right above the passenger side front wheel .. this hole face the short ram intake i have in my car ..

i was wondering if i was to run a tube from the the bumper(cut out where the fog lights would go) with a velocity stack in it, and the tube to the above mentioned hole with say a mesh so as stop any say fly or unwanted bugs ..

this would increase the amount of cool air that is reaching the short ram intake ... also plan on putting a velocity stack filter on the short ram ..

even thought of taking the design a little further and actually building a cold box around the short ram and connect that same tube to the box ..

does this idea even make sense ??

im guess everybody gonna say jus get a cai .. but i live in a area with alot rain fall and alot of potholes .. so kinda worried about the air filter being so close to the ground .. even tho i know cai should come with woter run off holes ..

No problem. Look thru the pages and one of the guys showed how to attach and seal in an aftermarket sri into the intake box. It's a better option then running the tiny and power sapping stock intake arm. OR you can go an even better route and pick up a stock ITR intake arm, which is 68mm (+/- 2mm) in diameter, is smooth and straight thru on the inside, does not have the stupid sound resonator, and is plastic so it's better with under hood temps.
