Default Exhaust upgrade worth it?

I currently have a megan racing exhaust with stock piping on my car. I need to get the car tuned up since a b18c was installed with blox stage 2 cams, but am looking to upgrade the intake and exhaust beforehand. Not sure if upgrading to the Tanabe Concept G or Medalion Touring, would be a huge enough difference for $480. Any suggestion as to whether or not upgrading to either of those exhaust and which exhaust would you suggest. I keep leaning towards the Concept G for some reason. There is someone on craigslist that is selling the Medalion Touring for 250, so I'm trying to figure out what I should do on the exhaust. Pretty simple problem so I'm hoping many suggestions will be given, thanks!

Larger exhaust diameter = more performance and more noise. You'll get the most power with a 3" exhaust, high flow cat and straight through muffler. And you'll get a terrible drone. What is ideal depends upon whether you care about maximizing performance or minimizing obnoxious exhaust noises.

A lot depends on other parts though. With a stock cat and a small header, a 60 mm exhaust and chambered muffler will be fine and will be quiet. If you have a 2.5" header you should get at least a 2.5" exhaust and a 2.5" high-flow cat.

I prefer the apexi WS2 because it is quiet and will still give you better exhaust flow. Also the yonaka WS2 knockoff is good value, and similar in sound to the apexi.

If you don't mind piecing together different parts you can build a custom exhaust like mentioned above.

I agree with Ryan, get the Apexi WS2 for a quiter ride (unless you want a loud muffler)

With the cams you have an intake, intake mani, header and exhaust will be worth it. You will notice a definite increase in throttle response and the car will make more power. I have the Tanabe touring medallion and I REALLY REALLY like it. I opted for that over the ws2 because imo the apexi has more of a "cheap" sound to it and the touring medallion is a little louder and quite a bit deeper in tone.

Bigger exhaust is not always best. 3" exhaust is going to hurt your tourqe curve with minimal mods. You would be better off with 2.5" than 3"

^^ People once thought this was true, but it's a myth that's been disproven. 3" exhausts improve performance across the entire rev range.
