Moving to Napa
Fellow Honda Enthusiasts.
I am thinking of moving to Napa from Dallas Tx. I am curious how smog works, and if I would even be able to register my hatch there.I know this is a sale forum, but if anyone can shed some light on this it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm guessing Napa, California? Smog pain in the ***, getting swaps BAR'd also a pain in the *** unless done properly with a very clean engine bay, carb legal everything. That pretty much sums up everything.
the honda scene is full of hispanics, who are not into the honda scene... they are into their own thing. Not bad just what it is. Very few black ppl in napa at all. Some younger white guys are into it, but with sloppy cars, and nasty looking swaps etc. There are a few realy well built cars around there. Infineon raceway is about a 25 minute drive and have 1/4 mile drags at a very nice venue on wednesday nights, along with drifting. Sac raceway is about 1 hr away and not so nice but has TNT, and a lot of import races.
Smog is the same in napa as it is in most of Cali, every 2 years u have to smog your ride, visual and tail pipe.
If you want to be legit, make sure your swap is pristine. Or be ready to pull your built whatever in favor of the stock motor every 2 years. Beautiful place to live honestly.

Thanks a lot for all of the responses.
That's what I was afraid of. More regulations. In Texas you have to pass inspection, but there are a lot of "tuner friendly" shops.
Might have to go back with classic domestics in order to be exempt.

come on with it, i have both. I also am finishing my 1968 barracuda. big block 440 bored and stroked to a 543- full roller motor, 11 to 1 compression, aluminum heads fully dressed up, and a 4 speed manual trans. rough estimate is about 650-750 hp and tq and 400 ftlbs from 2500 rpms through 5500.... these are crazy fun. these numbers are from very similar builds.
There are some tuner friendly shop out here too, don't get discouraged. do it all, there is also a growing drift crowd, not that hondas drift real well....
