1996 Stock Acura Integra
I just got this stock teg and want to do some cool things with it, while learning a thing or two about Honda's while I'm at it. I have pretty much zero experience, but am ambitious and can't wait to learn!
Can someone give me some pointers on where to start? Next week, I am taking it in to my brothers shop just to see what I need to do as far as maintenance goes, since the Maint.Req. light is on. Everywhere I have read so far is saying to get security first, but honestly, theres nothing to steal from this car at the moment so I am not too worried about that, and I live in a relatively safe place.
The only issue's I have noticed so far is a creaking sound from under the car somewhere when I turn around tight corners, like a u-turn. And(this has only happened one time so far) I turned on the car and it bogged down instantly and even if I gave it some gas. I was told this was because of air in the fuel line, and it went away after I turned the car back on and gave it more gas for a minute. I'm not too worried about this, but the shop I am taking it to is going to look into it for me.
Also, it is not a VTEC, and it is a manual trans. Obviously I want to change that, and I know it will cost more than just simply selling this thing and buying a different teg, type r or something, but part of the reason I bought this thing was to learn about tuner cars, and how else to learn more than to do a full motor/trans swap?! Sounds like a fun project to me. And I have been looking around a lot, found a b18c and manual trans with mounts, pedals, etc(everything I would need) all included for $4200, which sounds like a lot, but that's the best deal I've found. I also found a H32(I think that's what it was) for 1100, but I'm not sure if that is a good deal or not. I also have heard that an RSX motor would work in it, but I don't know if it would be beneficial or practical compared to just using a type-r setup, which is obviously what I know will fit and work properly when its all said and done.
That's all I got for now, please let me know what you think and any advice is more than welcome. Thank you!

Look for build threads to see what people have done and see what you like. The stuff you are talking about is all very expensive. Those kinds of things are also best for people who are pretty experienced already. I'd recommend starting a little smaller and working up to something like a K-swap or H2B.
Auto-manual swaps are rare for the reasons you mentioned (very expensive compared to just getting a 5-speed in the first place), but some have done them and you may find resources that will help. I'm not sure what the differences are, but there are obviously interior differences, wiring differences, ECU differences, and the engine and trans differences. Some of the accessories and emissions parts may be different as well -- I'm not sure.
I'd do research and figure out exactly what you want to do before you get started. Think about legal issues too. Many swaps are federally illegal, but whether you can get away with them depends on the state you live in and the types of inspections that are done.

Thank you Gagnar. Yeah I have been looking around. I have some friends who want to work it with me, but I'm thinking they might change their mind once we get started, lol.
I'll keep researching before I make any decisions.
