I replaced the thermostat and bled the coolant system thru the valve in the thermostat housing. The coolant temp gauge switches on and off whenever it wants could that cause the car to not have any heat? If not then how would I check the heater core and coolant temp sensor?
Did you have heat before thermostat change? If so, let car idle with radiator cap off. When car gets up to temperature turn heat switch to full on and watch for air bubbles in radiator. You may have to add up to a quart of antifreeze.

No heat before I changed the thermostat. When I did at least a quart of antifreeze came out and I know I didn't put that much back in. I filled the radiator with the bleeder open and antifreeze was streaming out(no bubbles).im so stumped right now.
Heater control panel has a self-diagnosis function. (without auto temp function)
Turn ign sw ON (II)
Turn fan sw OFF, and the recirc control sw to Recirc (recirc indicator goes off) Continue to hold the switch until the recirc indicator comes on for 2 seconds, then it will blink the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) to indicate faulty component. If there is a trbl code it will bling 1, 2, or 3 times.
