so my battery was always dying so i bought a new one.
i put it in, in the parking lot. new battery in so i started it. as soon as it started noticed a weird noise coming from the timing belt area. so i was kinda stuck so i had to go home anyways. while driving it was getting louder and all of a sudden my battery light turns on and stays lit. i come up to a red light and now notice the rpms are fluttering up tp 1500. light turns green and car didnt wana go like it had no power. quickly turn into the next gas station and turn off the car. went inside to grab some ciggs . went back and started the car and now its completely normal drove it for at least 30 miles after that without any strange things happing. also right before i turned into the gas station my hand was resting on shift **** and it felt like was grinding the gears, but i wasnt even shifting.

any input would be much appreciated!!

 

Sounds like the alternator has a seized bearing.

 

Would it always be acting weird or just went it wants too? This has never happened before. Till I put in the new battery..

 

Remove the alternator belt and turn the pulley by hand to check for grinding and free play.
