Default ?'s about new component speakers in '98 civic ex

Wanting to install 6.5" + 1" component speakers in my 98 civic ex. I bought the car about 8 months ago with fabricated mount 4" door speakers, they sound okay but no bass. The factory setup used component speakers. Below is my current setup:

Car = 1998 Civic EX coupe
Stereo Head = Alpine XDA-200
Amp 1 = 4 channel 800w Autotek (8 years old). 200w@2 ohms, 100w@4 ohms
Rear speakers = Cambria 6 x 9"s 3-ways 75 watt RMS/300w peak. 4 ohms
Front speakers = Polk Audio 4" coaxials, 45w RMS, 8 ohms.
Amp 2 = Alpine V-series 500w mono driving MTX 10" subwoofer in MTX over-sized ported cab.

Can I add a component system to a 4-channel amp? If so, please provide some make and models of medium priced range speakers ($100-250). My option if components can't be used is ripping out the 4" fab mount and use 6.5" wood ring extension mounts with 6.5" coaxials... would this produce a significant bass and/or sound enhancement over the current 4" speakers?

Seems like a tunning issues. You dont want bass coming out of the componet set. The xover is going to stop alot of it anyways. Then your going to end up with distorted front stage. The mtx sub should proved enough bass. Post some pics of your enclosure.

That 4 channel amp would blow any components. Speakers run at about 50watts RMS, you can get a 50RMS watter 4 channel Alpine amp for about $150 from crutchfield. Components separate your lows, mids, highs to get a higher quality sound. But yes, not sure how much bass you want, if you have a sub it should be the one producing your bass not your speakers. More bass try a new sub? Without knowing your db goals it's hard to tell what you want.
