obdo chipping question
Ive had my car for around 8 months now. I bought it as it is now. Im having a few problems as of lately, and yes I am new to this scene, not mechanics in general, but the honda, and motor swap scene for sure. Keep in mind i got the car this way, nothing has changed other than its been running fine as up to lately. I need to know how i can tell if my ecu has been chipped or not. I think im just running into some wiring issues but i need to know some stuff as I get into tracing and checking the spliced harness thats been wired to accept the jdm b16 thats in it. Basically when i pull out the computer, pull the cover off, where and what chip would be a mapped chip as im looking at it as if it were mounted in the car. Is the chip gonna be soldered in as one of those that can be pulled out and put back in, or directly soldered to the board? I was told it was chipped when i got it but i was told a bunch of stuff that wasnt actually true. As of lately my car has been running bad. I pulled the codes and got a 2 among the other 2 codes im trying to take care of. I have only one 02 sensor on my car, and its not hooked up, its never been hooked up and its always ran fine, and strong. To my reading ive done on here it seems that the obd0 setup can only be ran by chipping the obd0 ecu or going obd1. I wanna just get it running right again the way it is, so im gonna go through every wire splice i can and solder and heat shrink. Any advice is appreciated, thanks.
Thank you very much I actually found this under the faq in ecu section but i thought the link just took me to another website. i never scrolled all the way down. Im gonna take a good look at this after work. Thanks again.
