Swaps and hood clearance / spacer question
Ok so last year I swapped a 95 gsr into my 94 civic coupe, the left and right front corners of the valve cover hit the hood under hard shifts leaving dimples in the hood. (With stock mounts)
This year it has full synapse turbo kit and hasport mounts, car is also ready for paint and I have a new hood. I don't want the same thing to happen to the new hood, should I get hood spacers or should the hasport mounts take care of the problem?

The hasport mounts do drop the motor a lil and will no longer rub the hood...
I got the pwjdm hood spacers b/c my b16b and hood were making way too much love...wish I had the coin to drop on some mounts though

Curious why torque mounts are relavant?
I have wondered but have never investigated this....it's almost 50/50 i guess. gsr/itr/ctr swaps in eg/dc chassis using stock mounts...some say the VC clears the hood just fine, others (including myself) say stock mounts put the valve cover into the hood.
Im using oem mounts including torque mounts and rubbed the valve cover and hood raw. Closed the hood a lil hard once and put a nice dent in it too.

Thank you everyone, just to confirm I called hasport on my lunch and the rep that answers the phone said that the mounts Do Not drop the motor at all they are a stiffer mount and "should" not let the motor shake to leave the dimples, the rep stated he has had Eg gsr and b20 lsv swaps with the mounts and have not had this problem.
To the above person no I am not running torque mounts
Also I may just run some stupid spacers for I little bit bc I think it would suck to put on a brand new hood with new paint then end up with dimples in my hood, when I get sick of them ill pull them out and hope for the best lol

Couldn't washers of some sort be used? or a "polyurethane bushing" In place,to give it a slight lift as an alternative route? I could have sworn i seen a write up some place on this. I could be wrong but if you want billet hood spacers I guess these might be a cheaper alternative as well from the password jdm hood risers. there is also a six dollar set someplace I had saw.

I don't know why anyone would space the hood up. We always just spaced the engine and transmission down a little.
Also, you really should be running torque mounts.
