02 civic Vtec malfunction to TDC sensor codes and Cat converter codes
Hey,
I'm new to the site although I have used your threads previously to diagnose and fix my car so thanks to all of you out there that help us fledglings out.
Here's my current problem:
I recently changed my oil. In doing so the plug stripped out and I didn't have the time to drill and tap it, so I put some threadlock sealant on it to get me through until my next oil change (usually about every 3 weeks with the amount of driving I do). I regularly checked the oil level, but I did have a slight leak. At some point I was driving and as I downshifted and went to pass my rpm's shot up but the power reduced. I immediately stopped and checked the oil. It was low, but no where near bone dry. After a few minutes i was able to crank up and get it the rest of the way home. Had the oil leak fixed and began driving again. After about an hour of driving it would repeat. The car currently has these 4 codes p1259, p1361,p1362, and p0420.
My thoughts on what's happened:
The engine ran low on oil causing the Vtech to malfunction, somewhere in this process it affected either the TDC sensor or damaged my cat converter, as I drive the converter clogs and locks up the exhuast tripping my TDC.
Am I anywhere in the ballpark? Is it possible that some scenario of this nature happened or am I looking at several issues?
I'm going to install a new direct fit cat converter this weekend and was wondering if I need to also swap out the TDC sensor in the process.
Note: aside from the shutting down after an hour or so of interstate driving she still purrs like a kitten. I've never noticed a miss of any sort either.

Any suggestions? I pulled the catalyst converter this weekend and it appears to be in good shape. No discolorations that signify rich or lean running.
Ok, so here is the fix. Although the converter didn't have any discoloration, upon further inspection (via a flashlight on the opposite end) I noticed there was only an area about the size of a nickel that was allowing free flow. I put in the new converter and cleared the codes and she is back to running like a champ. Note: I bought a direct fit converter online for about $240.00, which is much better than the $700 the muffler place wanted and the $900.00 Honda parts wanted. If you don't have a lift to work from you will probably do better dropping the catalytic coverter as well as the exhaust to the muffler as the press in bolts tend to be seized up.
