H22 gearing
What is the code for the H22 tranny? But my real question is, what MPH do you guys redline in each gear?
Example: first gear redlines at 40MPH, second gear redlines at 65MPH etc.
Thanks.

yeah there's a fairly noticeable difference.

i've never hit the rev limiter in 5th gear, other than that, it's been to damn long since i drove it, oh yeah, and when some ******* wants to race from 60mph, don't do it.... top of 2nd gear, bottom of 3rd, not a good place to start pulling, especially since you can get up to ~90mph in 3rd.... it's a good long gear

an h22a1 tranny will roughly go 80mph in 5th gear at about 4200-4400rpm on the stock tach. stock tach being key. just for reference.
on my old accord with an h22a1 tranny and h22a4 motor.
i hit the rev-limiter in 5th gear. on the stock speedo the mph read roughly 140-142mph. the tach was bouncing off 8000rpm.
this was during a top end run which i lost because of the revlimiter and gearing.

I was raceing a friend on the freeway out here in Cali, doin a buck 30 (thats 130 mph) at like 7 grand. My redline is at 7400 and my limiter is at 7600. I haven't gotten another chance to try it but, I've been told that you hit the limiter around 135 to 138 depending on whether or not your on flat ground. My plan is to just put in a Lude SI or Base model (of about the same year) 4th and 5th gear in my tranny. I plan to do this just for the gas mileage because I can't stand being at 4200 at 80 mph.
Don't forget to figure in tire diameter. Many have installed oversized tires to some degree, which will both give you a lower than actual mph, plus lower your top speed because of the lower torque available for pushing the air out of the way.
