Default Cluster Swap, Starting with the 88-89 uber ugly

Hey guys, Im basically just trying to update the look of my gauge cluster, as I feel the oem 88-89 cluster is just to squared and short and doesnt match my newer gauges that I have in the center vent, and my headunit.

I can barely see the needle positions at night, and the lighting looks like its from a museum at best. Dull and yellowish, Im looking for a modern well lit cluster, without hopefully completely re-wiring the car, and if possible retaining the cable driven VSS.. if thats at all possible

This is my cluster, as you can see my car is RHD, and that may cause some fitment issues, so if anyone has any issues that may arise please speak freely.

Right now my top option is just the upgrade to the 90-91 hood and cluster, but even then the cluster would need some lighting modifications to look modern. And if Im going to spend $200 on a cluster and hood. I miht aswell get somethin I love the look of.

Do you guys think there are any best options for the style Im going for? Money isnt really an issue, I really care more about not havin to hack into stock wiring/VSS, has anyone made jumper harnesses to avoid cutting the stock plugs up??

Hope to learn somethin here. worst case scenario I load up my stock cluster with upgraded bulbs to avoid cutting the oem plus and swappin VSS's

Cheers guys, post your best pics!

swapping in a 90-91 cluster and hood is pretty much the only way to go if you don't want to mod the plugs and VSS. It may be possible to use a 90-93 integra cluster also, but I don't know the details on that.

I used a 99 GSR cluster in mine, but it involves swapping the VSS and also rewiring the chassis harness to the GSR plugs. It's not too difficult if you have wiring diagrams for each cluster.
