What intake for Honda Accord 99???
I'm looking for a short ram intake for my 1999 Honda Accord V6.I wanna know what's the best one or more reasonable for it's money.Obviously there are AEM,Injen,K&N,etc. Planning to purchase one in the next two weeks.
You live in Cali or something?
BTW your better off just keeping a clean paper filter in the air box than swapping it out for a metal pipe that absorbs heat and a cone filter that helps your engine ingest oil into your sensors.

This* Intakes obviously look a lot better than a stock airbox, but they lack in performance. I have one for the look of it (any my factory airbox was destroyed when I bought my car), and I gained no actual performance. I lost low end if anything..
Well my factory box was in horrible condition.I don't know what happened to it but its crack in some places and broken off in others. So should I just but another factory air box or go with an Intake?
You're in the DFW area?Me too lol.I live in Fort Worth.
I would personally not spend ANY coin on getting an intake unless its a comptech or iceman or some other plastic tubing intake with an airbox you dont have to oil.
Yeah I'm in DFW but I dont go to meets or active on the scene not alot of love for hondas in the import scene much less in DFW were everyone puts 24's on a car for "status" aka "why did you profile me officer?"
Get a tranny cooler instead(its auto right?), those accord both v6 and i4 have major tranny failures. My bro had his auto i4 built from a guy in dfw 1500 bux tho.

I run an AEM Short ram intake, AEM Dryflow filter, and an AEM pre-filter. I would just try to find an OEM airbox for a replacement, at least on a V6.

Not too sure how restrictive the Accord intakes are, but on my old car (VW Golf mk4 TDI) I ran a cold air feed flexible tube from the vents on the front bumper (cold air intake trumpet fitted) directly up into the airbox. Engine will always run better using nice cold air than recircling the warm air from the engine bay!!
The OEM airbox, and almost the entire intake/exhaust system is set up pretty well on the J30A1. The converter is restrictive.
In regards to aftermarket intakes, the J30A1 benefits more from a Short Ram, than the Cold Air. very little, but more.
The comptech icebox's are very rare and very hard to find for the J30A1.
Short ram intake, AEM Dryflow filter, and an AEM pre-filter would be a good set up if you go aftermarket.
