2 sunroofs in an accord wagon!?! install complete. pics inside
So originally i wanted a full glass roof, but thats CRAZY expensive so i decided on 2 sunroofs..at first i was going to get an electronic system but that also would cost me about min 1000 to about 2000 depending on sizes and labor. so then i came across pop up sunroofs, which are not electronic but allow you to open the sun roof 1.5", 3", or completely take the glass out in a matter of seconds. i spent about 400$ for both kits and paying a friend to help me install it. each kit roughly 150$ and comes with EVERYTHING you need except whatever tools you decide to use to cut the roof etc. overall i think it turned out great. and i can still have my dome lights, which is nice.
http://www.sunroofdoctor.com/popupkits.htm is the site i ordered from. they literally had my order shipped the same day and i had it in 2 days. EXTREMELY fast shipping. they also called to be sure i wanted 2 as not many people get 2 at once lol
used this video at first to figure it all out..
first took the headliner down to figure out what size i could fit and where the support beams are...

I bought the 16 7/8 x 32 3/16 for the rear and 14 9/16 x 32 3/16 for the front. thats the outer frame size. the glass size itself is 14 13/16 x 30 1/8 for the rear and 12 1/2 x 30 1/8 for the front
on their site its the 1732 and 1432
The kit comes very well packaged..

comes with templates you cut out based on the size sunroof kit you get..

once you figure out where its going to be, trace it and start cutting. we started out with the corners and a few spots on the edges adn then did the straight edges.

after we got the first one in...

finished..

i used dynaliner for the whole roof inside to reduce road noise and make it more sturdy
still need to complete the headliner...ill post a pic of in the inside in the next few days and then another once the headliner is in.

thanks, i will post pics in the next day or two from the inside and headliner i prob wont get to till this weekend..
yeah, we started around 11:30 and were done by about 4 with both. but i still have to do the headliner and im sure thats going to take a while.
theres a few options when it comes to the kit, they give you instructions on how to cover the black trimming with the headliner if your redoing your whole headliner fabric or the quick install where you can still see the black trimming from the inside of the window. like in the youtube video in the first post, from the inside of the suv you can see the black trimming, i will have it covered with the headliner so its flush...lmk if thats confusing but itll be more understandable once i post pics..

Normally to me the CD Wagons look goofy, the back seems to be added on, but whatever the hell other mods or paint tricks you did, make the wagon look proper.
Oh, and the double moon roofs are pretty slick too.
