1st Gen Cruise Control Noise
Hey guys,
I took our 2000 CR-V EX auto on a long road trip this weekend and it started doing a weird thing. When cruise control is engaged, there is a clicking, squeaking, or scraping noise from the gas pedal. It happens when it changes throttle position (like starting to go up or down a hill). When you manually press the gas or put a little pressure on it the noise goes away.
The problem is isolated to the cruise control. During normal driving it never happens.
Looking at the pedal, there's an extra arm that the cruise cable pulls on that then pushes on the main gas pedal. The main pedal has some little soft plastic bushing, so my thought is that this thing could be worn out.
Has anyone ever had this issue? Would you recommend just spraying grease on the pivot and sliding points?
