Icon7 1997 Integra Type R #10 <K20R Street Machine>

So it's been a whiel since I made a thread on the internet. With work and family life being so hectic, I have very little time to work on my personal projects cars as of late. However, I really have missed driving a Honda hotrod on the streets and have had the itch for a new project for the last coubple years. To this day the DC2 Type-R chassis is may favorite Honda of all time. And even though my track car is NHBP, there is nothing nice than a Championship White 97-98 Type-R.

While browsing the forum classifieds one day I stumbled across Carlos aka Azteggi build thread. It was a very nice high quality build that he had started. http://hondamarketplace.com/showthread.php?t=2969361

I came to learn that he had gaven up on the build and was going to part with the chassis. I figured it would be a perfect project to pick-up and finish for a weekend hotrod. In August of 2011, after a little negotiation I made the 7hr trip to phoenix to pick-up the chassis.

I ended up sitting on the chassis for about 9 months before I had a chance to take it down to my fabricator ASC. They were able to help me install my K20R conversion. While it was at the shop we installed all new wheel bearings, roll center adjusters, and custom hard brake lines.

While it was there, ASC modified an Rcrew muffler with a custom segmented turn down. They also did some trick stainless steel 3"in piping.

They also whipped out a trick 3.5"in Custom CAI intake

Since it is a dedicated street car, I picked up a clean set of Recaro SRD's with Vision low position one touch sliders. Also scored ona mint set of rear seats
Sorry for the shitty cell phone picture

Also picked up a Stoptech Big Brake kit. This is the same brake kit I use on the track car, which I have had good results with

I then moved the car over to my friend's shop Cartune, in San Diego where we finished the wiring, alignment, and misc prep work.

The vehicle will be running Eibach's newest Multi-Pro R2 coilovers. Sprayed some new undercoat in the wheel well area to freshen it up.

Here is is lowered with the Multi-pro and brakes installed.

Nardi steering wheels installed with a Works Bell quick release. Check out the new EDM ITR floor mat set I scored.

Low mileage 97 spec Mugen Cluster

New TracTuff ECU mounting plate

Welcome home!

Installed the fender liners, new oem mud flaps, new jdm ITR emblem, and missing engine bay hardware.

Thanks man. To be honest I'm way to busy and/or lazy to shoot a video, edit it, and upload it. LOL

Looks great! How do you like the k20 compared to the b18c?

Are you going to be putting the decals back on?

It feels like a Turbo'd GSR/Type-R. So much more torque and power.

There's no way on earth.

Last I heard, they need a 17" minimum

If you want I clear 15" wheels, it's spoon, wilwood / fastbrakes, or maybe endless.

Gil, what mirrors are those?

They won't even clear 16" wheels. I have tried both MF10's and CE28N's. They actually rub on the inside of the barrels. Need 17"in minimum

They are old school Ganador mirrors I scored of my buddy Reggie in Canada
