1994 EX A/T Emission Test and Muffler Question
Honda Gurus-
Have a question, regarding about Emission Test and muffler for Honda Accord 1994 EX A/T.
So, I have replaced the muffler on my Accord, with an aftermarket Walker one.
I tried to replace the old gasket, but it's a B!tch to remove, so I reused the old one attached to the resonator.
Before replacing there was a very minor leak at the resonator and muffler junction, which is still present, but seems bit more.
QUESTIONNow my question is, what's the easiest or best way to remove the Old Gasket and put a new one or will I be able to pass the emission with the existing one?
Any test I can do to make sure that there is no exhaust leak and car will pass emission test?
NOTE: I have passed emission test without any issues in the past.
Any help will be greatly appreciated

It depends. If the leak isn't too big you should pass just fine. But if its too big (like broken tubing or a massive rust hole in the exhaust) then you won't pass. My 92 civic passed with flying ******* colors. And it had a massive leak from the resonator. (I'm thinking that's why it passed because it allowed the exhaust to mix with fresh air)

so it wouldnt be the reason you passed but it could be the reason you may fail in the future
if the hole is accessible then the smog tech can stick the probe in the hole
but speaking on the ops's problem i could not answer

Well according to the tech (a friend of a friends) he was going to pass me if i failed anyways. But according to him it was a slight oxygen increase that helped. Just going on what he said. He also said that any bigger of a leak and i would have failed

not to burst your bubble but california smog tests measure oxygen and they will fail you if there is to much mixing of fresh air
