Spring Diameters?
EDIT: Situation solved. I need 60mm springs and ordered 2.5" springs. Hyperco sells 60mm and I am going to exchange them for the right size.
I ordered 2.5" .I.D. Hyper Coil springs because I believed that is the diameter of the exiting old springs (d.k. brand) on the race car. (99 EK) Once everything was apart, I found that neither springs measured 2.5 i.d :
The old springs measure an actual 2.40 inches and the new springs are 2.6 inches. So that .2" creates a lot of wiggle room on the Tein top hat and the base of the coil over.
What the hell is going on here? I feel like I am the lumber store finding out that a 2"x4" is actually 1.5" x 3.5", and not steted dimensions.
Is a 2-1/4" really a little bigger inner diamter, ie 2.4" and a 2.5" really 2.6" i.d.?

Don't understand the purpose of your question. As if we were to answer yes or no that somehow it would change your predicament. But it sounds the same as hard drive space. For instance; The difference between decimal and binary systems of measurement. Hard drive manufacturers and other storage devices use the decimal system to measure size. 1KB = 1000 bytes, 1MB = 1000 KBs, 1GB = 1000MBs, and 1TB=1000GBs. Computers, however, are binary machines, so 1KB=1024KBs 1MB = 1024 KBs, 1GB = 1024MBs, and 1TB=1024GBs.
It might be the same with the respective manufacturer's added to the fact that you "believed" instead of taking the time to actually check firsthand.
Contact Hyperco.

Sigh, yeah, my post was more of a rant than a question...and you're right, no answer solves the predicament, but could nudge me toward the right spring.
As I worked on this Saturday afternoon, no one was open to call while standing in my garage with parts in my hand and the computer sitting in the corner No search had info on this
Yes, of course HyperCoil gets the Monday am call and that may clear it right there.
I am stuck with the fact that neither spring is on a known spec (2.25" or 2.5")
Still like to know if anyone has a 2.5" spring that measures 2.5", or a 2.25 that is the same. If a 2.25 really comes in at 2.4", that is what I need.
