Default Help with camshaft selection

I have a B18C that is at the machine shop. I ordered Wiseco 11.5.1 - 12.1 pistons 81.5, brian crower rods.. ARP headstuds, gates timing belt... already have JDM 4 to 1 header, custom built exhaust, intake. Im going to be daily driving this car.. 92 oct only.. tuned on hondata or crome.. I ordered skunk2 pro 1 cams.. Who runs these? Did i make a good choice? How is the vtec crossover? cracks? loud? hard to notice? Anyone have other suggestions for camshafts.. Any other advice for my build much appreciated. People still using Skunk 2 pro series intake manifold? does it make power?

They're good cams. Just let your engine builder and tuner do the work. And the less you hear or feel VTEC crack, the better.

What a good cam for 84mm bore (vs a 81mm)?

Indeed. You shouldn't feel your vtec crossover. If you do it means your not getting the full potential through out the rpm range as vtec would gain you power lower in the rpm range. But at some point going to low will cause you to lose power. If your tuner is good, it will be very smooth and the only thing you should notice is the rpms pulling faster as the vtec crosses over.

I see what you mean. A better question would be is that a good cam selection for my set up? DD, 92 oct, 87 x 81.5. Who has experience with other companys camshafts (Buddy Club, Brian Crower, toda, JUN...ect) in their B18C with a compression appx 12.1

Would the Skunk 2 tuner 3s be a bad idea for a daily driver. Thought they have close to stock primary lobe keeping a relatively stock idle. I already have pro series springs, retainers, a solid port, polish and valve job ...

No. Tuner 3s isn't the best idea at all. The pro1 are a very nice cam to use.

Idle test.

Anyone else?? Is there a OEM injector that will work for my setup? Or should I just go with some RC310s?

You could look into getting RDX injectors (need some conversion hardware that is easy to get nowadays). Some people use dsm injectors. Check out Precision and ID as well. There's been lots of discussion recently about which injectors make the best power.

I'm currently using pro 1s on my stock bottom end GSR with a mild port and polish head with skunk2 alpha header , skunk2 IM (port matched with the head and the tb. I made 201.5 WHP and 137tq on 93 octane . Over all an outstanding cam for an all motor DD, hope this helps good luck
