Icon2 best cheaper muffler for civic?

got a question the civic i recently baught has an aftermarket muffler on it. the problem is, its either some cheap ebay muffler or its completly blown out the car dosnt even have a good tone its just loud as **** and the mmmmmmmmmmmmm sound coming into the cab wile sitting at a redlight is driving me up the wall its like haveing some one with a shity subwoofer parked next to you.

iv looked up a few of the name brand mufflers and there all like 200 bucks. WHAT for an over rated glasspack? anyway is there any good name brand muffler in the sub 100 dollar range?

Well more info would help like what year the civic is and if its a hatch, sedan, or coupe but for $100 it'll be hard to get a name brand one unless you search some local ads on Craigslist sometimes you can find stuff for a steal. Also I hear good feedback on the OBX TwinLoop muffler it sounds like stock and only gets a louder when you push your car. It has a nice tone to it and not ricey. Those go for around $120.

The OBX twin loop is ****. On top of that, it's loud ****. I'm assuming OP wants something quiet.

Thrush Turbo muffler. Have an exhaust shop weld it on. Make sure you have a resonator and catalytic converter. If you don't, have said exhaust shop weld on those, too. As long as you don't live in CA, you can get all of the above done for under $200.

Actually it's not that loud and a friend has it on his EM1 it's quiet and only gets loud when you rev up but not too loud it has a nice deep tone to it OP seems like he wants something with a little noise but not too loud for cheap and only thing I could think of was OBX.

I had an OBX twin loop. It was paired with a real cat, a resonator, and a turbo. It was still loud as *****. Add in the fact that the mounting points on it were all sorts of wrong - I had to pay a muffler shop to chop off hangers and reweld them just so it would mount without hitting my bumper, or bouncing off my LCA.

Thrush Turbo is all you need to know if you want quiet and cheap.

OBX twin loops are loud and terrible sounding IMO. For 100 dollars you best bet is to buy an oval (not canister style) muffler and weld in a 24 or 18 inch resonator in place of the cat if you don't have emission laws.

I think Vibrant is about $150 or so for a black muffler. YouTubes has some clips of them.

Just put the stock one back on. You should be able to find one at your local junkyard for about 75 bucks.

If you have the extra money to spend you can pick up a Yonaka catback for $239 shipped. It's a WS2 replica.

Megan Racing sells some nice mufflers that have a nice tone. The "MOE" has a nice sound and has a stock look.

What junkyard are you going to? Last stock muffler I picked up after a fix it ticket from a pick-a-part was like $28 with tax

I wasnt aware there was a national standard for used car parts. Just because you can get parts cheap at junkyards/pick-n-pulls doesn't mean everyone is so fortunate.

I love my Yonkaka as well!! It was great as is but I am old so I added a 24" Dynomax bullet resonator and it is one of the best sounding hondas I have heard. IMO

I also removed the tip and have a small 2.5" tip that looks like stock

If you think 200 for a muffler is over priced, you should see what quality brands go for. For under 200 you are very limited.
