Default Oil pressure?'s Please help.

To help explain my problem I uploaded a video to YouTube.
The oil pressure climbs then drops exactly at 3k and stay at 60psi sometimes 65 or 70. I'm using a mechanical oil pressure gauge. The whole time I'm accelerating. Doesn't make a difference if I'm full throttle or barely accelerating. In the video I was light on the throttle. Motor is a JDM B16A first gen.

Sounds like your gauge may be jacked up. I'm running a mechanical gauge and don't have this problem. Nor do I have a problem with oil pressure. How do you have it installed?

If you actually believe it is an oil pressure problem and not a gauge problem, stop driving the var until you figure it out.

take the pressure sender for the gauge out and install an oil pressure tester, run the car and watch it to see if it is in fact the gauge at fault or an issue internally (doubtful). if you see the same readings on the pressure tester i second grumblemarc's statement of do not run the car anymore. it is most likely the gauge is junk but no way to know without a test to confirm...goodluck

Thanks for all the reply. I don't think it's the gauge because before i pulled my b18c the gauge worked fine. The line is running from where oil pressure light originally was. Could some kind of restriction be the cause?

looks normal to me during acceleration. there is a relief valve in the oil pump that opens after a certain pressure.

if you are just cruising at a steady RPM, does the pressure stay stable?

Actually dpetro1 is rights it is the relief valve, found that out after a lot of research lol.
Yes the oil pressure is stable I believe its like 60psi at 3k and 70psi at 5k. Anyways thanks for all the replies.
