Default Brake Clunk

I bought a 2012 honda civic HF, now has 900 miles. I hear a clunk when I release the pedal. I heard the same noise on another car that was on the dealer's lot. the dealership has not been helpful with fixing this issue; they said the clunk is normal. Honda has not been all that helpful. What can I do about this?

Where is the clunk coming from?

I hear it in the cabin, but it seems like it is coming from the master brake cylinder, but I am not sure. The sound is more pronounced when I listen under the hood.

I have to assume with a 2012 you have a warranty, so go have honda fix it.

Edit: just seen you had honda inspect it. Try a different Honda maybe?

Clunks even when not driving (stopping) just when the pedal is released?

Could be a issue with the calipers. if the piston is not releasing correctly or is binding. if the pads are not sitting properly in the bracket...

is saddens me to hear that the dealership suggested it is a normal noise. sounds like a lazy diagnosis. tried another nearby dealership?
