Default Racing Port work Vs. Extrude Honing

I have been doing a little research into wether I should get my head extrude honed or have it ported out......but I cant really seem to come to a decision. I heard before that you would want smooth intake runners for an FI setup, but not for N/a (since the imperfections in the casting actually increase velocity/ mix fuel and air better)

Does anyone have there head/intake extrude honed? What do you think versus having it ported?

Thanks
Mark

BTW, post this topic in the tech forum and you will more than likely get more responses.

Hand porting is better for heads since material can be removed only where it will be beneficial to do so. For instance, you generally don't want to make your ports bigger where the manifolds/headers bolt to the heads. But it is very beneficial to clean up the ports around the valve seat area. However, extrude honing will tend to remove at least some material everywhere. Extrude honing is better on pieces that cannot be ported in the ususal manner (ie intake manifolds).
