I'm replacing the door moldings after painting. In the 03-05 service manual (page 20-198) it doesn't show the tape applied to the top of the rear door molding. This seems strange to me, because it would likely let water get in to the holes on the door. Why would it be applied to the top and bottom of the front door, and only on the bottom for the rear door? Can someone explain

 

I ended up doing it by the book.
