problem with leaking fluid after axle replacement - fitment questions
After replacing the passenger cv axle on the little ladies cd6, i notice the oh so wonderful smell of 90 weight fluid. After further inspection it seems the tranny is leaking a small amount of tranny fluid and is getting slung everywheree. I was positive i had the axle as far in as possible after giving it a couple of whacks with a small sledgehammer. After getting it fit into the hub and tightening the axle nut im wondering if it pulled out a little bit. But i would think after tightening the axle nut it would be correct? Im hoping you guys can give some input and help me fix this problem. The little lady osnt the sweetest piece of candy to be around when shes worried about "her baby" i suppose its not too bad tho since it seems i taught her correctly LOL
Heres a couple fitment pics for reference
Tranny side of things

Hub fitment

Axel nut

One of the progress on her baby. Keep in mind shes done everything her self. The extent of my help iwould be i just pointed at wat bolts to remove, used a break overon the stuck ones, held up the hub for her to line up the ball joint etc. Im very proud of her so far. She even wired in, and fabricated the harnesses for her sidemarkers, as well as her LED privacy lights, lighting up the ground when she opens her door at night to see puddles ice etc. Installed her lip, headlights, grille and stripped. The badges. Realize thats day 1 projects for some of us but for someone who didnteven know how to check her oil when we got together, shes improved immensley ever since.

it looks to be in all the way. if the seal was installed correctly i would think maybe the axle shafts seal surface has a groove worn in it. may have to replace the axle
90 weight is too much for the accord transmission. The axle looks to be all the way in. Axle seal might be punctured. I would inspect the seal.
That's true. Inspect the seal. Better yet, get another seal and when you are changing it, check the axle. If you run your nail across the groove worn from the seal and your nail grabs it. Replace the axle
I just clued in the axle was replaced. I would not suspect the axle then, sorry. Replace the seal. I thought the seal was replaced. My bad
Lol yes the axle was replaced. I take it the seal your referring to is on the tranny correct? When buying one do i ask for the tranny seal? Im wondering if the quarter inch the axle came out when i slid the opposite side into the hub was enough to cause this? When i removed it there was no gap at all so much so that i had to use a pry bar to pop the c clip out of place. Thank u for the replies!
