Command start won't crank when it's cold out, starts with key still
Alright so basically when it gets to be -20 or so out, my command start won't work. It's pretty inconvenient. It's a Viper 5901. My parking light flash also stopped flashing.
I've tried re-learning the tach signal, changing from tach signal check to voltage signal check, still nothing. It works just fine when it's a little cold out, or if the engine is warmed up, but not when it gets to be frigid outside.
It doesn't even TRY cranking. Looks like a normal start-up sitting in the car... ignition power comes on, seatbelt chime beeps, then *click* and shuts off. :/
Really annoying. Any sort of help is appreciated.

What is the error code it gives. Sound like low battery or frozen starter.
As always, my question is where did you get the Viper 5901 from, was it an authorized DEI dealer, or was it a non authotized online site? 94
I don't know how to check error codes from the alarm...
Today when I tried starting it, after sitting for a week, it tried cranking and nearly started... it had 2 good cranks, then clickclickclickclick while trying to crank. Started with the key just fine though. :/
If I had extended the wires on the relay, the heavy gauge wires, would that cause an issue? I used the same gauge wire. If that's the case, I'll rip it out and re-do the install...
I would definatly check the connection(s) of the remote starts starter lead, along with the units ground.
What kind of connections did you make, are they soldered? 94

Yes, soldered, and I made sure the solder flows into the joints. I'm sort of OCD on that...
Winter is almost over anyways and the car is getting an overhaul. I'll update this next winter...
